On cold days like this, I channel the hot summer midday of the island. When I would sit on the beach and watch the goats prance around on the small island just off the beach. Fell the warm sun sting my skin, the cool sweat roll down my chest, watch it glitter in the yellow sun. And when I get too hot, I would run towards the ocean, plunge into the cool ocean, swim out to that island, follow colourful fish as they glide along just about the white side of the ocean’s bottom. Step out of the surf, watch the crabs scamper as I plop down and sit there, feeling the sun warm me up again. Ahhh yes, sometimes daydreams are made to warm me up.
Its a good day to take a long walk on a short jetty, plunge into the emerald ocean, swim out a couple of miles, lay on your back, fell the hat sun on your stomach and the cool ocean on your back. Watch the bird dive for their breakfast, ahhh, the sound of the ocean, as if talking to you and you alone.
Time to wake up and follow the rainbow, let the cool Caribbean hug you, swim out until the colour of the rainbow rests on your head, slowly walk out of the ocean, let the colours roll down your body, stand in the early morning sun, let the colours glitter off you like a costume on carnival Monday.
Would it not be a great way to start the day watching the island get smaller as you row out to see, to the reefs so you can go snorkeling. Ahhhh yes, nothing like the early morning, when the ocean is cool and clear, and schools of rainbow coloured fish dart around you as you swim through them. Watch a stingray float by as if flying in slow motion. Yes man, that would be a great way to start the morning, to start the week.

On a warm quiet Sunday, when the sun is setting, walk to the part of the beach, where the coconut tree hangs over the ocean. Scale up that tree, see the sun from in between the coconut tree branches. Pick the coconuts, let them drop into the clear blue under you. Watch the colourful fish dart in all directions, causing the ocean surface to sparkle with colour. Watch the water crinkle as small waves pan out in a perfect circle. Feel the heat from the dying sun soak into your back. Let go and plunge into the ocean, feels like the hug of a cool body on a hot summer day, hearing muffled sounds all around you. Standing up, the muffled hum slowly disappears as the ocean drains from your ear. Feel the trickle of water run down your body, and the cool tickle of the slight breeze that sweeps across the beach. Stop looked around, it is just another Sunday on the island.
